Many years ago my wife and I tried Jenny Craig and, of course, the Jenny Craig menu. As most people will attest (just check the web), the food is awful, the advise useless and the material with the "course" is elementary. I've come to the conclusion that weight loss is a holistic lifestyle experience. Sure, it might be fine to utilize tools available as needed from time to time (like appetite suppressors), but sustained progress comes from incremental lifestyle changes implemented daily. Weight was gained by slow unhealthy choices made over time. Now you may be on a course that is hard to change. It certainly can't be changed overnight. I call this phenomenon, "Turning the Titanic." As we all know, it was impossible to turn that big, heavy ship quickly enough to miss the iceberg. What if the Titanic had started a turn 5 miles earlier? That would have had a different outcome. So here's what I think. Start making small, incremental changes in all areas of your life - as I will in mine. Seek out help where and when it is needed. I believe ongoing, loving support is crucial to any quest. Just start today. Now. Let's take this journey to better health together. Just let me know what I can do to help.
